Focusing
What is Focusing?
Focusing is a gentle, body-centered practice that helps you access your inner wisdom by tuning into what’s happening beneath the surface of your thoughts. When we work together with a Focusing approach, you’ll learn to notice the subtle physical sensations that arise when you bring attention to a question, feeling, or situation in your life: that tightness in your chest, the knot in your stomach, or the heaviness you can’t quite name.
With guidance, you’ll stay present with these “felt senses” in a curious, non-judgmental way. Rather than analyzing or trying to fix what emerges, you’ll simply give it space and attention. Often, just this act of compassionate witnessing allows something to shift. A new understanding surfaces, tension releases, or a path forward becomes clearer.
Sessions are conversational and collaborative. You’ll be seated comfortably while your practitioner offers supportive presence and gentle prompts to help you stay connected to your body’s knowing. This practice is especially helpful when you feel stuck, when something is bothering you but you can’t put it into words, or when you sense there’s more to explore beneath your everyday awareness.
No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to listen inward.
